Four nights of Semana Santa Seville 2027, from 24 to 28 March, come to about €557 per person if you share a budget room and watch from the pavement. Add a paid chair on the official route and the total is about €1,033. Those are our modelled totals from published prices as of November 2026, and they leave out flights.
Holy Week runs from Palm Sunday on 21 March to Easter Sunday on 28 March 2027, and the bill swings on three choices. Which nights you sleep there, which barrio you sleep in, and whether you pay to sit. Below we price each one and say which days we'd pick.
- The number: about €557 to €1,419 per person for four nights, before flights, depending on room, seat and whether you split a balcony.
- The dates: we'd sleep Wednesday 24 to Sunday 28 March, which covers Holy Wednesday, Holy Thursday, the Madrugá and Good Friday.
- The seats: the official 2026 seat subscriptions cost €90.50 to €1,016.77, but they are private abonos, not tickets you can simply buy.
- The calendar: the Consejo's 2026 calendar opened new seat applications on 1 January, so diarise January 2027 and book a cancellable room now.
- The tax: no tourist tax had been approved as of the latest reporting we found (September 2026), and we wouldn't budget for one.
What four nights cost per person
Expect €557 to €1,419 per person for four nights, flights excluded, depending on the room and how you watch. The model assumes two people sharing one double room from Wednesday 24 March to Sunday 28 March 2027, with four days of spending. Every input is a published figure from 2026 or earlier, because no 2027 rates exist yet.
| Scenario | Lodging | Food and other spending | Viewing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Budget room, pavement | 324 | 233 | 0 |
| Mid room, pavement | 436 | 233 | 0 |
| Comfort room, paid chair | 600 | 233 | 200 |
| Mid room, balcony share | 436 | 233 | 750 |
Our model puts the four scenarios at €557, €669, €1,033 and €1,419 per person. At the ECB reference rate of 4 November 2026 (€1 = $1.1267 or £0.8346), €557 is about $628 or £465, and €1,033 is about $1,164 or £862.
Here is where each figure comes from. Nothing in the table is a 2027 price, so treat every line as a starting point.
| Input | Figure used | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Budget room | €162 a night | A Santa Justa guesthouse's "from" price for the night of 1 to 2 April 2026, El Debate, 19 March 2026 |
| Mid room | €218 a night | Petit Palace Puerta de Triana, quoted in El Debate on 19 March 2026 (the article does not state which night) |
| Comfort room | €300 a night | Seville's average Holy Week rate in a 2023 Simon-Kucher report, three years old |
| Food and other spending | €233 for four days | €91.24 a day, less the 36.2% we read as the accommodation share of daily spend, from the Junta de Andalucía's Holy Week 2026 survey. The Junta's wording is "de las ocasiones", and with 17.2% on shopping the shares sum to about 91%, so this is our reading |
| Paid chair | €200 | The top of the seat range, per Euronews |
| Balcony share | €750 per person | €6,000, the reported average for a week, split eight ways (the group size is our assumption) |
We'd treat €557 as a floor, not a plan. The budget rate is a Holy Wednesday night, and Thursday and Friday nights are often priced higher. No published figure exists for them, so the Madrugá night is the biggest unknown in these totals. The €91.24 daily figure also averages tourists across the whole region, not a Seville restaurant table on Good Friday night, and our split of it into rooms and meals is a reading, not a published breakdown.
The biggest mover is how you watch. The €750 balcony share exceeds a whole budget stay, while each room tier step is smaller: €112 per person more from budget to mid and €276 more from budget to comfort over four nights.
The chair line is also generous to you. €200 sits close to the top of the Consejo's 2026 chair tariff (€197.96), and a tourist is more likely to meet the resale market. The consumer group OCU says resale prices there are often exorbitant.
If you travel alone or want a shorter stay
Alone, you pay the whole room. Four nights come to €648 at the budget rate or €872 at the mid rate, and with the same €233 of spending that is €881 to €1,105 before flights.
A three-night stay from Thursday 25 to Sunday 28 March keeps the Madrugá, Good Friday and the day after, and drops Holy Wednesday. Two people sharing save €81, €109 or €150 each at the budget, mid and comfort rates, which is half of one night at €162, €218 or €300. The €750 balcony share does not shrink with a shorter stay.
Which days are worth it
The day worth building the trip around is the Madrugá, the night from Holy Thursday into Good Friday. Wednesday 24 to Sunday 28 March is the four-night window we'd pick, because it holds the Madrugá and the days on both sides of it.
| Day | 2027 date | What the line-up shows | Our verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| Palm Sunday | 21 March | Wikipedia's list, dated 2010, shows nine brotherhoods including La Borriquita, whose nazarenos are children. We found no 2027 line-up | The family day. Outside our window, so pick it if you travel with children |
| Holy Wednesday | 24 March | Nine brotherhoods in the Carrera Oficial order, from El Carmen to Los Panaderos | The best night to arrive |
| Holy Thursday | 25 March | Seven brotherhoods, from Los Negritos to La Pasión | Go out early, then stay up |
| Madrugá | Night of 25 to 26 March | Six brotherhoods: El Silencio, El Gran Poder, La Macarena, El Calvario, Esperanza de Triana, Los Gitanos | The non-negotiable |
| Good Friday | 26 March | Seven brotherhoods, from La Carretería to La Sagrada Mortaja, including El Cachorro | Worth it, but you'll be tired |
| Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday | 27 and 28 March | Both days appear on the Consejo's menu, but we found no 2027 line-up | Treat Sunday as your travel day |
Our judgment on which night to pick: families with children should look at Palm Sunday, a first look at Holy Week is best on Holy Wednesday, and the Madrugá is for everyone else.
The line-ups come from the Consejo's approved 2027 order of passage, which covers Wednesday to Good Friday only. Full times and routes aren't out yet. The Consejo's schedule page still showed 2026 on 4 November 2026.
The dates themselves are firm. Easter falls on 28 March 2027, which puts Holy Thursday on 25 March and Good Friday on 26 March.
The Madrugá and whether to stay up
The Madrugá is the high point of the week, and it starts a little while after midnight. Wikipedia's account describes six brotherhoods, with El Silencio the oldest and followed by a silent crowd.
So here's our position. We'd pick one or two brotherhoods and see them properly rather than chase all six. Seeing the whole night is exhausting, and it leaves nothing for Good Friday.
But the night isn't guaranteed. In 2024 torrential rain forced all six Madrugá processions to be called off, the first time since 2011. Buy a room you can cancel.
Where to stay: Santa Cruz, the centre, Triana or Nervión
Stay near Santa Justa station or in Triana if price matters, and in Santa Cruz or the centre only if you want to walk to the official route. Hotel rates in Seville already swing hard by month, before Holy Week adds its own premium. Andalucía Today's Easter 2025 report put Seville hotels at 89% occupancy from Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday, peaking at 93% on Good Friday. The Junta's 2026 occupancy survey found Seville province hotels 82.3% full across the week and 87.4% full from Holy Thursday to Holy Saturday, against 77.7% and 87.1% for Andalucía as a whole. Those are province figures, not the city.
| Month | Average daily rate |
|---|---|
| Jan 2026 | 103.91 |
| Feb 2026 | 119.31 |
| Mar 2026 | 143.70 |
| Apr 2026 | 204.57 |
| May 2026 | 177.19 |
| Jun 2026 | 140.05 |
| Jul 2026 | 101.71 |
| Aug 2026 | 87.39 |
| Sep 2026 | 155.96 |
Spain's statistics office INE publishes Seville's average daily hotel rate by month. April 2026 averaged €204.57, more than twice August's €87.39. That April includes the Feria de Abril (21 to 26 April 2026) as well as Easter, so the gap is not a Holy Week effect alone. These are averages over every night of the month, so they say nothing about a single Good Friday.
The closest precedent is 2024, when Holy Week ran 24 to 31 March. INE's average daily rate for Seville in March 2024 was €134.45, up 23.7% on March 2023, while April 2024 rose 6.35%. That is one precedent, not a forecast for 2027. The price of the Madrugá night itself is unpublished, and no 2027 rate has been released.
Santa Cruz and the centre
Santa Cruz is described as Seville's primary tourist neighbourhood, and the Cathedral sits inside it. The Carrera Oficial, the shared final stretch every brotherhood walks, runs through Campana, Sierpes, Plaza San Francisco and Avenida de la Constitución to the Cathedral. You can walk to it, but you'll share every street with the crowd.
Triana
Triana sits on the west bank, reached over the Isabel II bridge, and El Cachorro's basilica is its Holy Week seat. Calle Betis has many of the city's popular restaurants and bars. We'd choose Triana for Good Friday, when El Cachorro is on the Consejo's list, and for dinner by the river.
Nervión and Santa Justa
Nervión lies east of the old town and has Seville's main train station. El Debate's last-minute list included an Ibis near Santa Justa from €115 for 30 March 2026 and an airport Ibis Budget from €111. The Ibis price was for Holy Monday, so Thursday to Saturday will cost more.
Read the minimum stay before you pay. One Triana guesthouse in El Debate's list had a two-night minimum and quoted €338 for two nights the week of 30 March 2026, about €169 a night.
Chairs, palcos and balconies
Official chairs and palcos on the Carrera Oficial are private subscriptions, so most visitors will watch from the pavement or pay a reseller. The Consejo's 2026 tariff for an abono ran from €90.50 in Plaza Virgen de los Reyes to €1,016.77 for the best palco rows in Plaza San Francisco.
| Zone | 2026 abono price, EUR |
|---|---|
| Plaza Virgen de los Reyes, chair | 90.50 |
| Avenida de la Constitución, Tramos 60 and 70 | 122.69 |
| Campana, chair | 156.86 |
| Sierpes, chair | 156.86 |
| Tribuna Campana, zone 1 | 197.96 |
| Palcos Plaza San Francisco, back rows | 749.11 |
| Palcos Plaza San Francisco, front rows | 1,016.77 |
That's a selection from the Consejo's 2026 tariff, which is published as an image. In 2024 the equivalent range topped out at €962.14 for the palcos, so the 2026 top price is about 5.7% higher.
The catch is access. Vozpópuli notes the seats are private and often passed down to children and grandchildren. The Consejo's 2026 calendar gave 1 to 31 January for new applications on the web. We'd apply in January 2027 and not count on it.
Splitting a balcony or apartment
A balcony is the only seat a group can reliably book, and it's priced like a villa. Euronews reports rentals from about €80 in less sought-after spots to €9,000 at strategic vantage points, with an average near €6,000 for the week, and says the highest prices cluster along the Carrera Oficial.
Split eight ways, that average is €750 each, which is the figure in our balcony scenario. Tools like TripProf let you split costs by participant and keep the day-by-day plan in one place, so nobody is chasing a deposit in a group chat.
Get the deposit terms in writing, though. Our guide to when to book a 2027 trip covers cancellation windows in general.
Getting there from the UK, Ireland and the US
You can fly to Seville direct from the UK and Ireland but not from the US. Wikipedia's airport page lists Ryanair from Birmingham, Cork, Dublin, Edinburgh, Luton, Stansted and Manchester, plus British Airways and Vueling from London. It lists no US route.
Americans will need a connection, and we'd look at Madrid or London first, then the AVE or a short flight.
We found no verified Holy Week fare for either mode, so we haven't priced flights or trains, and our range leaves transport out on purpose. Set alerts once your dates are fixed, and note that routes on that airport page change by season.
What you'll spend on food and getting around
Food costs about €34 a day on our reading of the regional average. The Junta de Andalucía's survey put average daily tourist spending at €91.24 in Holy Week 2026, with 37.8% going on restaurants and 36.2% on accommodation. The Junta words this as "de las ocasiones", so we read the figures as shares of daily spend; with 17.2% on shopping they sum to about 91%. On that reading the restaurant share works out at about €34.49.
That's an average for Andalucía, not a Seville price list, and we'd round up near the route. We found no verified 2026 Tussam bus fare page we could cite, because the operator's site blocked automated access. Walking covers most of the centre, and that's where the processions are anyway.
Rain, crowds and closures
March in Seville averages 46.9 mm of rain over 5.5 days of at least 1 mm, based on 1991 to 2020 airport normals. That's enough to take a procession off the street. A brotherhood can shelter in a nearby church, or its Hermano Mayor can suspend the procession.
Is there a tourist tax in 2027
No tourist tax had been approved as of the latest reporting we found (September 2026). The city's mayor is pushing for one, but the final decision belongs to the Junta de Andalucía, and the hotel employers' association opposes it. The mayor was still asking for it on 18 September 2026, and the Junta's vice-president has repeated his opposition in the same El Español report, so we wouldn't budget for one. Check again before you book.
A booking calendar from now to March 2027
Your booking calendar starts with a cancellable room now, then the seat chase in January 2027. Official 2027 times aren't out, but the order of passage is, and the only dated deadlines we can cite come from the Consejo's 2026 calendar.
- November 2026 Choose Wednesday 24 to Sunday 28 March, book a room with free cancellation, and note that the Consejo's times and routes page still shows 2026.
- December 2026 Watch the Consejo's seat calendar. Its 2026 version appears to have been posted in December 2025.
- January 2027 If 2026's pattern holds, new seat applications run 1 to 31 January on the web, with payment due by 31 January.
- February 2027 Ask any balcony host for the deposit and refund terms in writing, since rentals are private deals.
- March 2027 The 2026 calendar listed temporary abonos with payment on 2 to 6 March and pick-up on 16 to 27 March. Ask the Consejo whether visitors qualify.
The Consejo's office number is on its site, and the 2026 calendar also lists in-person applications at the Consejo office from 26 to 30 January. For more on timing a whole year of trips, see our 2027 travel events calendar.
Frequently Asked Questions
When is Semana Santa 2027 in Seville?
Holy Week runs from Palm Sunday on 21 March to Easter Sunday on 28 March 2027. Wikipedia's Holy Week in Seville page lists 21 to 28 March, and Easter is 28 March 2027 according to its list of Easter dates.
When is the Madrugá in 2027?
The Madrugá falls on the night of Thursday 25 March into Friday 26 March 2027. The Consejo's approved order of passage lists six brotherhoods for it, from El Silencio to Los Gitanos.
Can tourists buy chairs on the official Carrera Oficial route?
Tourists can't easily buy chairs on the route. The Consejo sells seats as abonos, mostly renewed by existing holders, with new applications in January in 2026. Resale is discouraged, since the consumer group OCU reports abonados can lose their abono for it.
How much is a hotel in Seville during Holy Week?
No official 2027 rate exists. On 19 March 2026 El Debate quoted rooms from €115 a night (Holy Monday) and about €111 (no date given) for Holy Week stays, with the mid-range example at €218, and a 2023 Simon-Kucher report put the Seville average at €300. Good Friday had 93% occupancy in 2025, so we'd expect it to cost most.
Is there a tourist tax in Seville?
No tourist tax had been approved as of the latest reporting we found (September 2026). The city council wants one, but the Junta de Andalucía decides, and its vice-president has repeated his opposition, so we wouldn't budget for one.
Which Seville neighbourhood should I stay in for Holy Week?
Stay near Santa Justa station or in Triana if price matters, and in Santa Cruz or the centre only if you want to walk to the official route. Triana suits Good Friday, when El Cachorro is on the Consejo's list.
What happens if it rains during Holy Week?
If it rains during Holy Week, brotherhoods can wait in a nearby church or suspend the procession. In 2024 all six Madrugá processions were called off, the first time since 2011.
Key Takeaways
- Plan on €557 to €1,419 per person. That's four nights, sharing a room, excluding flights, built from 2026 prices, so check live rates.
- Sleep Wednesday to Sunday. It holds the Madrugá and the days either side of it, and Sunday is a travel day.
- Watch from the pavement unless you can split a balcony. Official seats are private subscriptions, and resale prices are not published.
- Book a cancellable room now and diarise January. The 2026 seat calendar opened applications on 1 January.
- Keep the plan and the bills in one place. Tools like TripProf handle a day-by-day itinerary and split expenses between the group, which matters when a balcony costs thousands.
